Lake Roosevelt student Kaitlyn Nordine will be traveling to Chicago in June to compete in the national Future Business Leaders of America competition.
Four LR students competed in the state competition in Spokane April 20-23, including Nordine, Sam Amarilla, Kailah Leadingham, and Noah Hunt.
Nordine placed fourth in three categories: help desk, journalism and health care administration, qualifying her to compete in the national competition in Chicago, which takes place from June 29 through July 2.
"We are so proud of Kaitlyn and her accomplishments here at LR," said FBLA Advisor Susan Duclos. "She has been our chapter president this year and member for four years. She is the second person to go to Nationals since following her brother Alan several years ago. We wish her good luck at nationals and well next year at Whitworth College. She will truly be missed."
At state, Amarilla competed in the business law, impromptu speaking, and sales presentation categories; Hunt and Leadingham competed in the broadcast journalism category; and Leadingham also competed in the business ethics and business law categories.
