Hello Ahreum (Autumn)

Why am I so lucky?

I have a new great granddaughter, at least new to me.

She was born the day that President Biden took office, Jan. 20, 2021.

I saw Autumn once before, in Spokane at the hospital, but last weekend she was at the house, so I really got an opportunity to watch her closely.

She is really mobile and walks all over.

Her mother and father are Camille and Mark Fabian.

No one can know the joy of seeing a new family generation arrive. As they say “out with the old and in with the new.”

I wonder what circumstances await little Autumn.

Anyway it’s a time to be proud of a new little one in the family.

She at first took a long look at me as if I was strange, and it changed by the time she left to go home to Seattle. But there’s a promise that she will return in June.

I am not much of a shopper now. I guess there’s not much that I need that I don’t already have.

But I think that shopping in Hong Kong is the most enjoyable place to look for the unusual.

It’s been a while since I have been there.

I had been told that merchants there were honest and always made sure that goods bought were duly shipped.

On various trips there I purchased a variety of things.

I always made an attempt to purchase old items.

And true to their reputation the merchants there got items I purchased shipped right away.

Hong Kong then was a great place to shop, and it truly was a safe place. I never felt like the city was unsafe, and wandered freely.

A lady at the consulate there was from Bothell, and she went on one of my buying adventures. Her comment was that it appeared that I could dig out the unusual anywhere we went.

My favorite find was a pair of antique lacquered wall hangings.

Whatever was purchased was shipped and promptly received. Shopping and the food were high parts of my various trips there.
