Terek Bush competed at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association's
state 1B/2B golf tournament in Deer Park May 24, scoring 93 strokes, just one above the 92-stroke maximum to make the cut to continue the following day.
"Terek missed the cut by just one stroke, unfortunately," Head Coach Steve Files said. "He really played well, though, and for his first State appearance he handled himself extremely well.
Bush shot his best round of the season and really "hit his stride" on the back nine, shooting a 41, Files said.
That included a birdie on the par-five 17th hole from about 30 yards out, Files said.
"Terek's terrific scrambling ability was on display throughout the round," Files said. "We're all very proud of the way he competed and represented LR."
