Grays Harbor signs two LR wrestlers

Two Raider wrestlers will go to college in Aberdeen, Washington after signing letters of intent to wrestle for Grays Harbor College last month.

"Super excited to see those two boys continue their wrestling career!" Lake Roosevelt's head wrestling coach, Billy Monroe, said. "Grays Harbor is probably the number-one wrestling program in Washington state. They placed third as a team at nationals with eight all Americans, one of them being Sergio's brother Octavio Alejandre," also a former Raider wrestler.

Grays Harbor is in the Northwest Athletic Conference.

"I don't believe either boy is getting a scholarship, but if they make varsity that might become a reality," Monroe continued. "The most exciting thing will be to see in a year or two where they are at after being in a college weight and wrestling room. The hope is they come back over Christmas break and work with the high school team and teach what they have learned."
