GCD area in the spotlight of new promo video

The Grand Coulee Dam area is in the spotlight of a new video being made to highlight the attributes of the area. 

Voortex Productions, out of Wenatchee, is working with the Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce to produce a promotional video.

"I am so excited about this project!" chamber Executive Director Rachelle Baughman said. "The purpose and mission behind this video is to highlight the Grand Coulee Area and unite the community. We want to give our community something to be proud of, as well as show off what an amazing area we live in! We want to feature all the great activities in the area such as fishing, boating, golfing, hiking, rock climbing, camping, horseback riding, ice climbing, snowshoeing, and much more!"

"The chamber has been working diligently to diversify the tourism marketing that we provide for the area," she explained about pursuing the project. "A board member and I found the video of 'We are Wenatchee' directed by Voortex Productions, met with the company, researched other companies, and presented it to the rest of the board. The board agreed and voted that a video of the area would be good to have in our portfolio of marketing materials."

Baughman described Voortex as "a well-known production company that films documentaries, business promotional videos, and commercials" and noted their "We Are Wenatchee" as being viral online.

She said the project for the Grand Coulee Dam area should be completed and out to the public by the spring of next year.

"This video will be on multiple platforms of social media, as well as YouTube, and hopefully more," she said. "We want the video to promote our gorgeous area, boost tourism, and help support our local businesses year around!"
