A Veterans Day assembly will be held at Lake Roosevelt on Nov. 10 from 9-10 a.m. in the high school gym, and veterans and their families are welcome to attend.
Middle school and high school bands will be performing patriotic marches, and a slideshow will be presented showing veterans from the local area, their names, dates of service, and which branch of the military they served in.
Further submissions for that will be accepted up until Nov. 8, band teacher Gabriel James said. "The more the merrier, we want to make sure everyone is represented," he said.
Those who wish to submit a photo or information for the slideshow can call the school at 509-633-1442 or email James directly at gjames@gcdsd.org.
James is organizing the event along with Indian Education Director Ashley Atkins, who he said is helping with the slideshow and with the Native American side of things.
A flag ceremony will also take place during the event.
"This is our opportunity to honor the veterans," James said.
Veterans Day is on the day following the assembly, Nov. 11.
