Cross country competes at league championship

Raider runners wrapped up their cross country season at Liberty Bell High School where they ran in the Central Washington B League Championships last Saturday.

Freshman Caden Portch finished 16th, just two places and about 15 seconds shy of qualifying for the state tournament, running the 5,000-meter race in 19 minutes, 9.2 seconds.

“Caden really tried,” Head Coach Matthew Timentwa said. “Ran a personal best for the year and improved his time by a whole minute, which was great to see. He’s got a bright future.”
