Free compost class offered

Fall is a great time to learn how to compost leaves and other yard debris. To encourage composting, Grant County Solid Waste will offer a compost class for Grant County residents on Thursday, November 17 at 6:00 pm in the Grant County Public Works meeting room located at 124 Enterprise St, Ephrata.

By composting, residents will reduce the amount of yard debris disposed in the landfill and reduce the need for burning.  Using compost is a beneficial way to turn yard and garden waste into a resource that helps plants grow healthier and faster by keeping the soil loose and well drained.
