Betty Jane Ferguson

Betty Jane Ferguson, 83, of Keller, Washington, passed away in her home Thursday evening, December 1st, 2022.

Betty was born Saturday, May 13, 1939 to Archie and Ruth Stensgar-Arnold in Boyds, Washington.

Following high school, Miss Betty Jane Arnold, “twice married” the love of her life: Donald J. Ferguson, Sr .; first on Tuesday, December 2nd, 1958 at the “Hitching Post Wedding Chapel” in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; then again three months later on Friday, February 6, 1959, they had a formal wedding ceremony at the Catholic Church in Inchelium, Washington.

A member of “The Confederated Tribes of The Colville” and the Catholic Church, Betty attended both “St. Henry Parish” in Grand Coulee, Washington and “Saint Rose of Lima Parish” in Keller, Washington. Betty had worked for at the Keller Trading Post and as a Pit Boss at the tribal casino.

First and foremost in Betty’s life was always Don, their children and grandchildren, whom she loved beyond any measure. Her children fondly remember joining in together with Don and Betty on her guitar enjoying music together as a family.

She also enjoyed playing pool and softball, camping, collecting various nick-nacks – including salt & peppershakers, cooking and watching movies.

Betty is predeceased by her devoted husband of 56 years: Donald “Don” Ferguson Sr .; both of her parents: Archie & Ruth Stensgar-Arnold and sisters: Jeannie Jerred, Ramona Kheel, Margaret Palmer and Elizabeth Arnold.

Her legacy lives on through her thirteen children: Donald Joseph Ferguson Jr., Perry Lee Ferguson (Vanessa), Corina Thornton (Larry), Melody Ferguson, Lili Ferguson-Clark, Mark Ferguson, Ruth Anne Ferguson, Sheila Peoples, Jack Ferguson (Tammy), Brook Ferguson, Eric Ferguson (Francesca), Roma Jean Ferguson and Fauna Ferguson; “One Hundred and Thirty-Two” (132) Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren and brother: Walt Arnold.

Betty’s family dressing was held at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 5th, 2022 at Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee, Washington. Her Rosary and Wake was at 7:00 PM that evening at the Keller Community Center in Keller, Washington. Funeral services commenced at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 6th , 2022 at the Keller Community Center, followed with her being laid to rest next to Don in the Indian Cemetery on Kuehne Road, in Keller, Washington.
