12/12 - A man on Schreiber Road reported that a cargo trail had been broken into and two boxes and a tool bag were taken along with various tools. Police took photographs of the crime scene as well as footprints in the snow. It seems that a lock was “defeated” by whoever stole the items, and removed to enter the trailer, according to the police report.

- Police shot an injured deer near the intersection of Continental Heights and Federal Way after determining it was the most humane thing to do for it.

12/13 - Police checked on a Diamond Street woman whose father hadn’t heard from her in a while. The woman was fine and said she’d call her father.

12/14 - A Grand Street woman reported that her boyfriend had stolen about $500 worth of Christmas presents and her sister’s car. It turned out he had permission to use the car at the time. The woman said she thinks he took the presents that she purchased for her kids because she broke up with him. She said she wouldn’t press charges if the presents and car were returned.

12/15 - Police checked on a Burdin Street woman because her daughter was worried about her. The woman was fine.

- Police responded to a report of someone slumped over in the driver’s seat. The person was a woman who said she had recently given birth, that she was just sleeping and was very tired. She said the baby was inside the residence she was parked at with the father. She said she would go inside to go back to sleep.

- A couple’s Subaru was struck while parked at a church on Weil Place and Center Street. Police took photographs of the damage that included a dent and scrapes.

12/16 - A deer injured by a dog that had chased it was fine, police determined when they saw it walk away, although it did have a limp.

- At about 3:20 a.m., police checked on a woman on Van Tyne Avenue reported to have been having some kind of breakdown in a parking lot on Midway Avenue. She had been left there by her boyfriend over a disagreement, she said. She was given a ride to the casino.

- A woman allegedly stole a $185 drill from the hardware store, then got into a truck driven by a man. The man returned later, and explained to police that the woman was his cousin. He identified her, and said he didn’t know she had stolen the item, and had dropped her off near Four Corners. She faces the theft charge and is being banned from the store.

- Police killed an injured deer near Western Avenue that wasn’t going to survive. A resident said he was going to salvage and donate the meat from the animal.

- Police gave a man a ride to King’s Court trailer park from Lakeview Avenue following an argument with a woman who wanted him to leave.

12/17 - Child Protective Services took custody of an 11-year-old boy who was alone at his home when police checked on him earlier. Police noted the place was warm, and the boy was clean and in good condition. The boy had been playing on a tablet and said he was able to contact his parents with the tablet if he needed to. He said his parents had gone to Spokane for something important the day before. Police bought the boy food to eat before he was taken by CPS. 

- A man accused a woman at the Hi Dam Bar of taking his iPhone and throwing it into a snowbank near the TeePee Burger restaurant, to where he had traced it. Police reviewed security footage from the bar and didn’t see the man set his phone down at any point. When asked by police about the accusation, the woman denied taking it, saying, “Why would I want his busted ass phone?”

12/18 - A woman who two days earlier had reportedly stolen an item from the hardware store was back at it, this time allegedly attempting to steal a $200 chainsaw. She was confronted by a staff member and a customer attempted to stop her at the door, but she ran off and got into a van that drove off, leaving behind the chainsaw, a coat, and a bag containing various items associated with drug use. Police located the van on Dill Avenue and learned the woman had left on foot prior to police arrival. A man said the woman had taken his coat, and police returned the coat to him. The drug paraphernalia was destroyed. The woman faces another charge of theft.

12/19 - A man reported that a work van parked on Main Street had been broken into and some items were taken, including a solar panel worth $75 and tarps worth $300.

12/16 - A man reported his car stolen after he had parked the green 1996 Toyota Corolla outside his home at Columbia Avenue and Grant Avenue on the afternoon of Dec. 15, then saw it was missing the next morning. He doesn’t know who may have taken it.
