A group that meets to tie quilts to give to charities will resume that work in January at Zion Lutheran Church.
The quilts, which are given both to foreign and local organizations, have been made in the homes of many local quilters, but the tying of them will be done at the church each Wednesday over the next couple months.
“We will again be tying quilts at Zion Lutheran Church for the months of January and February,” said Evelyn Russel. “Due to Covid, we only had a limited number of people work at the church but still were able to do 80 quilts by working at home” in 2021.
“We will start at 9 a.m.,” she said. “Bring a sack lunch if you want to.”
Half of quilts went to the Support Center in Okanogan, and half to World Relief, Russell said.
They also keep two to four quilts at the church for local needs, she said, noting that some went to local families that just lost their home to fire recently.
For more information, Russell can be reached at 509-633-0648.
