LR wrestles at Bavarian Invite

Raider wrestlers took third place as a team at Leavenworth Jan. 7, where they wrestled in the 10-team Cascade Bavarian Invite.

Lake Roosevelt's 134 team points placed the Raiders behind Eastmont with 169, and champion Omak with 254.

The Raiders fielded three champions in the tournament: Rodger Cate at 113 pounds,  Teyten Flores at 152, and Junior Garcia at 182.

Cate once again dominated his opponents by pinning Landon Batton of Cle Elum-Roslyn and Angel Sandoval of Cascade. Cate improved his win-loss record to 11-2 for the year.

Flores had three pins and won his finals match 14-7 over Jacob Mercado of Eastmont.

Garcia two pinned two opponents to win his championship.

Also placing in their respective weight classes were Dillan Yazzie, who took fourth place at 113; Dakota Green, second at 145; Christian Carson, fourth at 145; Landon Krohn, third at 160; Terek Bush, 4th at 195; and Blake Chuckalnaskit, fifth at 195.

152 - Teyten Flores (13-7) placed 1st and scored 28.0 team points.

160 - Landon Krohn (13-5) placed 3rd and scored 18.0 team points.

182 - Junior Garcia (2-0) placed 1st and scored 24.0 team points.

195 - Terek Bush (6-6) placed 4th and scored 16.0 team points.

195 - Blake Chuckelnaskit (3-6) placed 5th.

285 - Caleb Wallace (3-8) place is unknown and scored 0.0 team points.
