The Lake Roosevelt Raider boys' wrestling team finished in 11th place out of 45 teams at the state tournament in the Tacoma Dome Saturday, taking a third place and two sixths, and an LR girl also took a sixth.
Rodger Cate took third at his 106-weight category, pinning Darrington's Creed Wright. He 15-pointed Warden's Castro and pinned Reardan's Matusik. Kalama's Suzara got an 11-7 decision over him.
At 145, Christian Carson took sixth place. He won by a 12-7 decision over Chewelah's Dakota Katzer before losing by one point to Tristen Wood of ACH, 7-6, then falling to Carson Borden of Willapa Valley after leading 6-2.
At 152, Landon Krohn also took sixth with an 11-0 decision over Dominik Jerome of North Beach, then falling to Brody Schillinger of Davenport and Kaleb Blanton of Forks.
Arianna Waters took sixth place at 140 in the girls' 1B/2B/1A/2A state tournament after falling to Emily Gomez of Poulsbo, then pinning MaryAnn Reyes from Toppenish and Launa Johnson of Clover Park, and finally falling to Courtney Jones, of W.F. West.
