April banquet and auction to benefit Ridge Riders
For years, the Ridge Riders Club has been a widely popular part of the annual Colorama event held each Mother’s Day weekend in Grand Coulee. This year is no exception, with the Colorama Pro Rodeo taking place on May 12-13 at the Ridge Riders rodeo grounds on Alcan Road.
To put on a high-caliber rodeo takes a lot of effort and resources, including generous sponsors, volunteers, donations, and grants. One way the club raises funds for the annual rodeo and other events is through their Banquet & Auction.
This year’s event, taking place April 1, has an exception, according to Anita Eylar, club member and rodeo website administrator. In years past, she says, it was pre-sold to anyone who attended the prior year, with it selling out each year. This year, the club has set aside a limited number of tickets for the public to purchase, Eylar says.
Doors are only open to ticket holders at 4 p.m. The silent auction, which includes quality items from local businesses and donors, runs from 5-7. The banquet dinner starts at 6. The dinner is included in the ticket price and consists of Träeger-cooked prime rib, baked potato, beans, roll and dessert. The live auction starts at 7:30. The no-host bar is open from 4-10.
“If you want to attend to support the local rodeo events and Ridge Riders, buy your banquet tickets now!” Eylar advises. “When they are sold out there are no seats left!”
