William "Billy Joe" Mollenberg, 74, of Coulee Dam, Washington, "Loving Dad, Grandpa, Adventurer and Classic Car Guy", left us the morning of Monday March 13, 2023, from Grand Coulee, Washington.
Bill entered this world Tuesday, June 8, 1948 to Jefford Mollenberg & Leona Seastrom in Oregon State. As a child Bill was adopted and lovingly raised by his grandparents: Eark & Emma Toulou-Crawford.
Bill excelled as a member of the Inchelium High School Hornets Basketball and Baseball teams, graduating in 1966. Following graduation Bill tried out for and was recruited by the "New York Mets" Farm Team, only to have his pro-baseball dreams dashed early, due to a knee injury. Later on in life Bill continued his education at Eastern Washington State University.
William J. Mollenberg proudly served his country as a Drill Sargent with the United States Army and United States Army Reserve, being Honorably discharged in May of 1992 at the rank of Staff Sargent.
He later was an active member of community Softball teams where Bill (who was ambidextrous) confused opposing teams with his equal abilities to pitch, catch and bat with either hand.
Bill had worked as a logger, mechanic, EMT, Fire Chief and Tribal Coroner for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville before his retirement. Never one to sit still, Bill then went to work for the Tribal Casino as a driver and providing security. Later in life Bill was able to connect and enjoy a meaningful relationship with his biological parents Jefford and Leona.
Bill enjoyed hunting, traveling, road trips with his children and grandchildren, playing his guitar, singing karaoke and especially Classic Chevy Muscle Cars – True Detroit Muscle. Bill loved his family for whom he faithfully provided for. He particularly enjoyed embarrassing his four daughters with his own special song just for them.
Preceded in death by both sets of his parents and a brother: Roy; Bill's legacy lives on through his daughters: Brandy Stensgar (Tony), Nicole Murphy (Shawn), Kaci Duran and Bobbi Mollenberg; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: Emil, Karla, Daryl and Jim as well as numerous nephews and nephews.
No services are scheduled at this time.
