Aaliyah Marchand picked for WIAA athlete of the week

Lake Roosevelt fastpitch standout was named as a Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Athlete of the Week winner last week after her rousing performance against the 1-A ranked Omak Pioneers April 15.

WIAA's citation noted that senior Aaliyah Marchand "led Lake Roosevelt softball to two dramatic wins against eighth-ranked Omak High School. She pitched both games, collecting 26 punch-outs while allowing just eight hits. From the batter's box, the senior cleared the fences with a homerun, highlighting a 4-for-6, four-RBI performance."
