Scholarships awarded

Grand Coulee High School Alumni Association

The Grand Coulee High School Alumni Association awarded scholarships in the amount of $500 to each of the following members of the Lake Roosevelt Jr/Sr High School Class of 2023: Penelope Antoine, Jaelyn Cleveland, Brit Egbert, and Landon Krohn. Each of these students’ applications presented a high level of engagement in high school life, including success in academics, athletics, and community service, as well as focused goals going forward after high school.

Three students from out of the area who are descendants of graduates of Grand Coulee High School prior to its consolidation with Coulee Dam High School in 1972 also received scholarships: Avery Zlateff, Cedarcrest High School in Duvall (granddaughter of Ben Zlateff), Lindsey Jones, Okanogan High School (daughter of Pauline Sanderson Jones and granddaughter of Gary and Terry (Dunning) Sanderson), and Meghan Rice, Snohomish High School (granddaughter of Ray Rice). These students, too, demonstrated via their scholarship applications highly successful high school experiences and clear goals that include higher education and meaningful career choices.

The GCHS Alumni Association salutes these fine students and wishes them fulfilling post high school years and anticipates each one will contribute greatly to his/her family and community.

P.E.O. Chapter DG of the GCD Area

P.E.O. Chapter DG of the Grand Coulee Dam Area is proud to award two 2023 $500.00 scholarships in memory of Jeanie Beery. The two young ladies selected are Lilly Wyborney and Isabel Brink. We would like to congratulate both these young ladies for their achievements and send them best wishes for success with their educational, professional and personal goals. The P.E.O. Sisterhood is an organization dedicated to helping young women further their education. We pride ourselves as being women helping women reach for the stars. This scholarship may be used toward expenses at any college, university, or school of higher learning.
