Harry Francis Hardy

Harry Francis Hardy, 73, of Grand Coulee, Washington passed away with his family by his side the afternoon of Thursday July 13, 2023, in Spokane, Washington.

Harry was born Sunday October 23, 1949, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to the home of Harry L. & Mary Jane Fox-Hardy.

From 1969 to 1989, Harry served his country in the US Navy as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Retiring as an E-6; Petty Officer Harry F. Hardy's service record includes - Four "Good Conduct Awards"; the "US Navy "E" Ribbon" for Battle Efficiency; "US Navy Achievement Ribbon" (twice); "Sea Service Deployment Ribbon" (Three Times); "Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon"; "Navy Expeditionary Medal" and "National Defense Service Medal."

On Thursday, September 16, 1971, Harry's life forever changed when he married Miss Viola "Vi" Rhodes in Oakland, Maryland.

Following retirement from the US Navy, Harry worked for five years as the "Final Assembly Inspector" on the "Boeing 767" wide body commercial airliner.

Pursuing his love of good food – especially Philippine cuisine, Harry attended Mount Vernon, Washington's - Skagit Valley College, where he earned his "Associate of Arts" degree in "Culinary Arts." Harry's family members have fond memories of his amazing "Turkey Gravy", "Teriyaki Chicken" and "Fried Rice" among the other delicacies, which he created.

When not measuring and mixing ingredients in the kitchen or out shooting; Harry pursued THE passion which ultimately led he and Vi to pull up stakes and move to Grand Coulee, Washington... "Bass Fishing"! Harry fished in multiple fishing tournaments with "Northwest Bass" in Washington and Oregon, which included catching the biggest fish during a tournament at Banks Lake in the Grand Coulee area. Harry especially loved fishing alongside Vi each July in the "North End Bass Club's" annual "Jack & Jill Open Bass Tournament" at "Coulee Playland" on Banks Lake's.

Predeceased by both of his parents; Harry's legacy lives on through the love of his life, favorite fishing partner and wife of 51 years, Viola "Vi" Hardy; two sons: Michael L. Hardy and Joshua C. Hardy (Barbara); six grandchildren: Michael Wittemann, Justin Hardy, Nicholas Phillips-Hardy, Brandon Hardy, Rhiannon Hardy and Lucas Sukert-Hardy; two sisters: Patricia Darlene Henderson (Bill) and Joyce Bosley (Larry); brother, Jeffery Hardy and numerous nephews & nieces.

Harry's family has planned no services at this time.
