He has been told by business owners, the USBR, area local churches, and a cop on the beat, that he and his friends cannot skate in front of the businesses, on federal properties, city streets, or the hallowed pavement in front of churches.

Winners of the Over the Dam 10K run were Shelley James of Anchorage, AK, and Adam Leahy of Kennewick, WA.

Friday night a storm washed a huge crevice in the bank along Hwy. 155 just above Coulee Playland exposing utility lines.

Jason Miller, a senior at Lake Roosevelt High School earned a top ten award at a cross country camp this summer.

Even though the weather during the middle of the summer was atrocious at times the tour count has shown an increase from 102,118 in July of 1982 to a total of 215,756 this year.

Three runners that have been participating in over the Over the Dam run since the beginning include Mike Mueller Orville Scharbach and Hilary Brown.

According to a federal court order issued in Spokane last week all those still occupying spaces at Earl’s Trailer Park in Coulee Dam are summoned to appear and show causes for their continued occupancy there.

Doris Cobb of Coulee Dam caught a nine pound walleye last Wednesday evening downriver. She said she’d been fishing only 10 minutes when she felt the fish bite.

Increased hours and pay for uniformed personnel of the State Patrol was announced. The increase will raise the base pay for patrolman from $315 to $365 a month.

Five new names were added to complete the teaching staff at the Coulee Dam school system. Newcomers will be Royce Nesbitt 5th grade, Esther Burns 4th and 5th grades, Fran Pierce 7th grade, and Gary Hendrick and Gilbert Jordan high school English, band, and chorus.
