He returned to Nespelem from Port Angeles, WA the summer of 1975 and found an old school mate and his forever love, Dalene (Nissen) Marchand. They returned to Port Angeles so he could finish his college stint. He then decided to come home to his Rez and start working. They married on Mar. 11, 1977 and again on July 26, 2014 when the found their love brought them back to each other completing his circle he'd say we're lucky we got a second chance and it's supposed to be this way. He is blessed with his children and grandchildren who he loved with all his heart. He loved passing on his musical skills to everyone and always wanted his children or grandchildren to carry on with the legends of the Marchand Musicians.
He worked hard all his life and most of it was on that Iron Horse he was well known as one of the best Finish Grader Operators there is. He done that work for 35+ years and loved sharing his knowledge. He played hard too being with his family and friends enjoying Stickgame, going camping where the mountains got to hear all the Stickgame songs and some good ole originals of his own.
He enjoyed after "so called retiring" being able to create a beautiful yard with rocks, landscaping, and a fountain and fixing a flower garden with solar lights and rock beds. He was a natural. He also enjoyed gardening. He loved teaching his grandkids about providing food by growing your own. He'd always planted strawberries for them just to see their eyes light up and those big ole smiles when it was time to harvest them.
