Richard Earl Carpenter Jr.

Richard Earl Carpenter Jr., 56, passed away during the early morning hours of Monday, September 18, 2023, in Grand Coulee, Washington.

Born Thursday January 26, 1967, in Bremerton, Washington to Richard Earl "Dick" Sr. and Lucy Haydock – Carpenter, Richard attended Olympic High School in Bremerton, and graduated from Lake Roosevelt High School of Coulee Dam, Washington in 1987, where he was a member of the band, playing saxophone and bass guitar. Following high school, Richard went on to Spokane Community College, where he earned his Associates of Arts Degree.

A Horticulturist and Master Gardener, Richard worked in greenhouses and was an avid gardener in his spare. His love of dogs and ability to teach K-9s to do anything, led Richard a position as dog trainer with "Petco."

After his children and grandchildren, whom Richard dearly loved being "PaPa" to, his passion was music - from classic rock and roll to heavy metal. Having been a member of bands and having cut a cd, Richard was never happier than when he was making music.

Predeceased by his fiancé Francisca Bell, father Richard E. "Dick" Sr. and grandparents: Fred and Edna Haydock and Earl and Lela Carpenter; Richard's legacy lives on through his mother Lucy Carpenter; two daughters: Elizabeth "Liz" Carpenter and Sarah Carpenter; grandson:Henry Leggett; sister Kerri Kruis (Joe); nieces: Rindi Green and Harley Babb (Robert); great-nieces: Maci and Lexi Green and great-nephews: Bardock and Alciel Babb.

A celebration of Richard's life will take place at 1:00pm on Friday, October 27th, 2023 at Strate Funeral Home, 329 E. Grand Coulee Avenue, Grand Coulee, WA 99133.
