Lawrence Allen Achord, 46, of Electric City, Washington, left us on Friday, September 29. He was born December 24, 1976 to Blanche Achord. Lawrence grew up in Nespelem, was active in the Boy Scouts and ran cross country. He was also proficient in school. He found his true passions early. There were few things Lawrence coveted in life: racing horses, hunting, cribbage, cutting wood, all rounded out his life perfectly. No one ever questioned his card count, chainsaw skills or the wrap he put on a horse. Most of his informative years were spent in the woods with a saw or gun in his hand which resulted in a hard work ethic. Being headstrong and independent left him with a wicked sense of humor, hence his many nicknames, but none stuck better than Lippy. After graduating high school in 1995 Lippy traveled the race tracks from Winepeg to New Mexico. He traveled for years until settling down in Electric City. When he hung up his racing straps he went to work for Ag Link. After a few years at Ag Link Lawrence transferred to the WSDOT and picked up harvest jobs too.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his mother Blanche Achord, father Fred Marchand, sister Debbi Achord and son Dusty.
He is survived by brothers: Dean Achord and Thad Achord; niece Angel Viven; nephew Shane Marchand and numerous cousins.
Lippy was not a church kinda guy so a memorial dinner will be held Saturday, October 14 at 3 p.m.at 2390 Road V NE, Mansfield, Washington. Barbecued meat will be furnished, bring any side. In Lippy's honor there will be storytelling, playing cribbage and having a beer or two.
