Myrna Joy Francis (84), of Electric City, Washington passed away following a brief illness, Monday morning, October 23, 2023 at Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee, Washington.
Born Wednesday, July 6, 1939 in Rifle, Colorado to Phillip & Lenore Paddock, Myrna attended high school in De Beque, Colorado, where she was one of six in her graduating class. Myrna was also a cheerleader for the De Beque High School Dragons Basketball Team..."They did not have a sufficient number of students in the school to field a football team."
Following high school, after noticing a certain handsome young college student, Myrna signed up for classes at Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado with the sole purpose of making the acquaintance of Mr. Orie Francis.
On Sunday June 22nd, 1958, Orie and Myrna were married in Grand Junction, Colorado.
After moving around often following Orie's construction jobs, Orie and Myrna settled in Electric City, Washington in 1970. Myrna enjoyed working in her garden, hunting, fishing, boating, camping and traveling to see new places. Most of all, Myrna loved time spent with her family. Her family fondly remembers the smell of fresh bread wafting from Myrna's kitchen and the taste of her heavenly German Chocolate Cake.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Orie Francis; son, Scott Francis; both of her parents and a sister, Beverly Rowe; Myrna's legacy lives on through her son, Dennis Francis; daughter, Pamela Heintz (Gary); sister, Sharon Choszig (Jack); four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
