12/17 - A vehicle was pulled over at Four Corners for having a brake light out. Police noticed burnt tin foil on the floor of the back seat, an item associated with drug use. The driver said she came to the area from Twisp to drop off friends who needed a ride, and perhaps one of them had left the tin foil. She didn’t tell police their names. Police asked if she had large amounts of cash, firearms, or narcotics in the vehicle. She said she didn’t have cash and was unsure if there were any narcotics inside but that there shouldn’t be. She didn’t want police to search the vehicle, so police towed the vehicle and obtained a warrant to search it. A bag on the passenger side where a male was sitting contained a loaded handgun which he is prohibited from owning. Another bag contained drugs, likely meth, and drug paraphernalia, such as needles and a spoon. The driver came to retrieve her car and told police that the male passenger had admitted having the gun to her. She said she didn’t want any part of this type of thing as she is working on getting her life back together. She didn’t know the man’s whereabouts at that time. The next day, a Safeway employee reported an unresponsive woman in her car in the parking lot. It turned out it was the same woman who was simply sleeping in her vehicle before returning to Twisp. She was speaking and acting normally and not on any drugs or experiencing any health condition. Police directed her to a public space where she could park to sleep.

- A woman reported being confronted with a loose German shepherd near the RV park on Grand Coulee Avenue. The dog snarled at her when she approached the park. Police were unable to contact the dog owner at the time.

12/18 - Police saw a Jeep traveling at what appeared to be well above the 30 mph speed limit on Midway Avenue without working tail lights. The vehicle turned toward Crescent Bay near Pole Park where police pulled it over. A Coulee Dam officer arrived, having also seen the Jeep speeding through Electric City. The officers agreed the man seemed to be on drugs but there saw no paraphernalia in the vehicle. The man was cited for driving without insurance, registration, or a license, and for the defective tail lights. He was told not to drive since he is unlicensed, so he called a licensed driver who said he would come from Spokane. Police provided him with directions to the location. The officers then went to Pole Park. After a while, the Jeep was seen leaving, heading north on SR-155. Police pulled it over again and asked the driver why he decided to drive after being told not to. The man said people with weapons had approached him and he thought the officer had been aware of them. Then he pointed toward a parking lot above Grand Coulee Dam, saying the people with weapons were over there. He asked the officer if he could see them. There was no one there. Police told the man his vehicle was being impounded for disobeying the original order not to drive. He said he understood and was allowed to collect his belongings. Police gave him a courtesy ride. The man originally wanted to go to a motel, then the casino, then when he felt like he was having a health issue, agreed to be dropped off at the hospital.

- While responding to a noise complaint, police were flagged down by a man on Weil Place. He asked police to have Jess Ford give him an “emergency rental” vehicle because his truck was broken. He also asked police to fix his malfunctioning phone. Police told him neither of those were police matters. Police then saw his truck parked outside of Jess Ford as he was peering into windows. He said he wanted to buy a truck. Police told him Jess Ford was closed and to come back when they are open. Police contacted a Jess Ford employee who said he didn’t want the man banned from the property, but to simply told to return during business hours. The man said he understood.
