1/16 - A man reported that his wallet is missing and that the last place he had stopped with it was the post office, where it could have been dropped or stolen. He said he searched his truck for it. There had been no fraudulent charges on any of his cards since he had lost it.

- Police collected details on a possible protection order violation in which the protected person was at Safeway and the man she is protected from was also there. He said nothing to her, but his girlfriend did in a “gloating” manner. It appeared there was no order violation as the man didn’t intentionally go to Safeway at the same time and wasn’t near the protected person’s home or workplace. The protected person wished to have the man’s girlfriend added to the protection order.

1/18 - Police went to a Grand Coulee Avenue residence to serve a protection order on a man who had been there. He was not there when police arrived. They told the reporting party to change the locks and to call if the man returned.

- A Nissan pickup and Ford Mustang were in an accident on Federal Avenue near Midway Avenue. The driver of the Mustang had a wound on his head, and a medical crew was called to the scene. He said he lost control of his vehicle while driving down Federal toward Midway, hit the guardrail, and then the back of the truck. The truck then hit the corner of The Star newspaper building.

1/17 - A disabled vehicle that had been parked on 6th Street in Coulee Dam for several days had a window broken. Nothing of value had been taken. It seemed that a rock had been thrown at the window. A rear window was also broken. Police told the owner to contact her insurance company about the matter. There were no suspects, and the car was parked out of view of security cameras of the nearby casino.

1/18 - Tribal police were involved in a situation at a residence that is on tribal trust land on Tulip Street. Coulee Dam police learned that a man had thrown family members’ items out of the home, giving tribal police probable cause to arrest him for malicious mischief. The man also allegedly refused to cooperate with police, allowing for a charge of resisting arrest. The man had barricaded himself inside the house. There was then a brief foot pursuit, in which tribal police deployed a taser unsuccessfully. Coulee Dam Police said they could not enter tribal trust land but could help from the street. Tribal police determined that the situation would be best left without police presence in the area.
