The Lake Roosevelt Raiders won the District 6 tournament championship for the second year in a row Friday in Omak, after a win at home on Tuesday.
"We're fast," said a pleased Coach Ed Wolfe amid the jubilation on the Omak court, where the 2024 District 6 2B Boys Basketball Tournament was held for a week.
The Raiders had just trounced the Tonasket Tigers 81-47 to take the title after having beaten Okanogan on Tuesday 91-69.
The win will send the Raiders (20-1) to the Districts 6/7 Crossover Tournament on Friday, Feb. 16 to play District 7's number-12 team Davenport (10-15) at Wenatchee High School, starting at 6 p.m. in a loser-out game.
The Raiders pulled away from Tonasket early on, but the contest wasn't easy against a tough Tiger squad, which in the end couldn't keep up with the Raiders' speed.
In Wenatchee, the Raiders must win to go on to the state tournament in Spokane Feb. 28-March 2.
