Scott Alex Townsend

Scott Alex Townsend, 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from lung cancer at his home in Electric City, Washington.

Scott was born July 25, 1962, to Rosetta and John Townsend in Phoenix, Arizona. He completed his schooling there before moving to the Grand Coulee area with his family in the early 1980's.

He worked with his brother Paul as a welder, for Merv Monteith, and completed training to become a long-haul truck driver in 2003. Scott was involved in a devastating semi-truck accident in the winter of 2004, in which he lost his leg. After recovering from many complications from the amputation and internal injuries, Scott applied for and received disability funding.

Scott filled his days by cooking wonderful meals (Townsend Tacos) for his family, puttering on cars and trucks (especially his El Camino), and spoiling his "fur babies". He loved attending his in-law's family reunions, and always brought his specialty "Frito Pie".

Scott is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ronda, his daughter Sierra Townsend, his brother Paul Townsend (Janet Clark), and sister-in-law Margie Townsend. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosetta, brother Mike Townsend, and sister, Sheria Townsend.

Although no funeral service is planned, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later time.
