Justin John Avey

Justin John Avey, born on October 22, 1975, in Spokane, WA, passed away on March 6, 2024, in Wenatchee, WA, following a sudden cardiac episode. He was the beloved son of John and Janice Avey.

Justin was a graduate of Lake Roosevelt High School in 1994 and went on to earn his Associate in Applied Science General Business degree from Spokane Community College. Throughout his life, he held various jobs, including working as a clerk at Safeway and Frito Lay driver and did numerous odd jobs along the way.

He was a member of a loving family, survived by his parents, John and Jan Avey, his sister Melanie Dawson and her husband Ed, his brother Jared Avey and his wife Rebecca, two nieces Emma Goodwin and Sierra Dawson, four nephews Gabriel Goodwin, Timothy Goodwin, Trent Dawson, and Jesse Avey, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Justin's family was at the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His dogs were his fur babies and faithful companions.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Jack and Carolyn Pachosa, paternal grandparents Jack and Sonja Everett and Clifford and Phyllis Avey, aunts Dena Avey and Barbara Ries, and cousins Richie Avey, Cory Pachosa, and Christopher Pachosa.

In his free time, Justin found joy in running community fun races, participating in high school cross country and track events, and reveling in outdoor activities. He had a talent for tinkering with things, building, fixing, and staying active. Justin's zest for life was infectious, and his uplifting spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was known for his hardworking nature and his unwavering desire to help others in any way he could.

A funeral service in memory of Justin John Avey will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Grand Coulee, WA. Burial will follow at Spring Canyon Cemetery with lunch to follow at St. Henry's parish hall. There will be no viewing. Strate Funeral Home is in charge of his care. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations toward funeral expenses.

Justin's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
