4/19 - A man and woman who were arguing about an issue related to child custody on Fir Street agreed to separate for the night to let tensions cool. No crime was committed.

4/22 - Police responded to Roosevelt Avenue in Electric City on a report of German shepherd puppies being neglected. Police saw a woman putting the dogs behind a fence and saw them to be in good health. Police then spoke to the owner, who said he was working on getting rid of them. Police reminded him there are limits on how many dogs someone can own in Electric City.

4/23 - A man walking in the road near the high school was reported to have flipped off a passing car. Police checked the area and didn’t see the man.

- An officer assisted Grand Coulee Police in looking for a male suspect who had caused some kind of disturbance near the former middle school in Grand Coulee. Police didn’t locate the suspect.

- Police went to the “flag pole area” across from the casino on a report of four boys carrying another who was possibly intoxicated. Police only saw two boys in the area and they appeared fine and in good health.

4/24 - Police received a report of people in their 20s having Twisted Tea alcoholic beverages in their hands then driving off from an auto shop in Electric City. Police then saw the car parked on Kelso Avenue but were not able to contact anyone.

- While an officer was parked on Coulee Boulevard, a white Ford Taurus passed by and the officer noted that his vehicle shook when it passed. It seemed the vehicle was going over the 35 mile per hour speed limit. Police attempted to follow the vehicle, then saw it parked at a gas station in Grand Coulee. A woman left the gas station then started to approach another white car, and realizing it wasn’t hers, went to her car. She turned north onto Midway Avenue/SR-155 without headlights and had poor lane control. Police pulled the vehicle over and smelled human waste and burnt substances in the vehicle. There appeared to be vomit on the steering wheel and the driver spoke rapidly and showed behavior consistent with methamphetamine use. She became agitated when asked to step out of the vehicle and was walking into the roadway before police put her in wrist restraints. She said she wouldn’t cooperate with blood draws or other protocols used to process driving under the influence cases. She was taken to the hospital then cleared to go to jail. The officer took her to the edge of Electric City where Grant County deputies took custody of her and took her to jail. The vehicle was impounded.

4/26 - Police viewed security footage of a Kelso Avenue residence where a woman known to suffer from mental health issues had lain on a neighbor’s lawn and began taking off her pants and had said something about hitting someone with a frying pan. Police spoke to her significant other who explained that changes in her medication have caused issues and he would talk to her. The man whose lawn she was on was fine with the explanation and handling of the situation.

4/27 - A Chevy Impala backed into a Jeep Compass when both vehicles were leaving the parking lot of the post office in Electric City. An officer helped with an exchange of information. 

4/28 - Police collected details from an incident that occurred at a Lakeview Avenue apartment in which a woman’s toddler was said to have stepped on her boyfriend’s two sleeping children, leading to an argument and him to asking her to leave. She left with her child. Police spoke to the woman at the hospital, who complained of pain around her ribcage from him grabbing her. X-rays showed no damage. The man said she slapped him in the back of the head. As each said that the other was the aggressor, and as there were no signs of injury, police forwarded the information to the prosecutor’s office for a future charging decision.
