Raiders compete at state track and field meet

Four Lake Roosevelt athletes competed at the WIAA 1B, 2B, 1A State Championship Meet

at Yakima's Zaepfel Stadium at Eisenhower High School May 23-25.

John Cooley placed sixth at the state track meet in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.94 seconds. Cooley came in ninth in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.10. He came in 12th in the triple jump with a personal record of 38 feet, 2.5 inches.

Carly Neddo placed eighth in the javelin at the state tournament with a throw of 109 feet, 11 inches, and ninth in the discus with a throw of 103-7, setting a personal record in each event.

Caden Portch ran the 3200-meter race at state in 10:37.47 taking 11th place in a field of 17 runners and setting a personal record for the event. He took 14th in the 1600 in 4:58.74.

Raeley Portch ran the 300-meter hurdles in 55.0 seconds to come in 16th.
