5/27 - Police received a report of someone in the area of 6th Street and Cedar Street who wanted help going to rehab. Police tried calling the number of the person twice but the call went to voicemail. Police also searched the area for the person but didn’t find them.
- Relatives of a deceased tenant cut the locks to storage units at the Columbia River Inn to retrieve some of his belongings but didn’t take all of the belongings. The motel didn’t want to press charges nor know the names of the relatives but wanted the incident documented and guidance on how to proceed.
5/28 - A Spokane couple who keeps their camp trailer on Roosevelt Avenue in Electric City reported that, while they were gone, a generator and storage bag were stolen from a side compartment on the camper that was damaged in order to gain access. Police spoke to the couple at Spring Canyon Campground, where they were camping, took photos of the damage, and collected details on the generator and storage bag.
- A Coulee Dam officer and Grand Coulee officer responded to Cardinal Road in Delano to assist Grant County deputies, who had received a report of a physical disturbance. The Grand Coulee officer had the suspect detained when the Coulee Dam officer arrived. The man was brought over to the Coulee Dam officer’s vehicle and a Grant County deputy took over the case once he arrived.
5/29 - Police received a report of a domestic dispute at the Columbia River Inn that led a man to allegedly drive intoxicated in a van to Harvest Foods. Police spoke to the man, who explained he had been arguing with his girlfriend and that the argument had been verbal only, which the girlfriend later confirmed. Police suspected the man was intoxicated based on the smell of alcohol, watery eyes, and slurred words. As he was in the driver’s seat with the engine on, police investigated to see if the man was guilty of being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. After performing field sobriety tests, police found probable cause to arrest him for the crime. He was taken to the police station, where they tested a blood alcohol content of about 0.11, above the 0.08 limit. He was taken to Okanogan County Jail.
5/30 - Police were told there was a burglary at a Lakeview Avenue address in Electric City, with the caller having a photo of the vehicle that had left the area, including the license plate. The vehicle was stopped by police. The owner didn’t want to press charges and the driver was told not to return to the property. The police report didn’t include additional details as to the nature of the burglary.
5/31 - An officer assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office by attempting to locate a woman “on Banks Lake” outside of Electric City. The woman had been telling her friend on the phone that she needed help. Grant County officers took over the search for her once a boat arrived to assist.
- A Central Drive woman reported her garbage can had been run over a few days prior. There was no suspect in the case. She needed a police report in order to get a replacement can.
6/1 - A toddler was running down Central Drive in the rain after getting out of the house. His father was chasing after the kid barefoot. He said the child safety lock on the front door had malfunctioned. The officer recommended a certain brand of child safety lock that he, himself, trusted. The man and child were given a ride back to their home.
