Lanay Chukulnaskit is Co-Salutatorian

Lanay Chukulnaskit's 3.98 GPA also makes her a salutatorian for the class of 2024.

A Running Start student, she's been taking college-level courses for two years from Wenatchee Valley College, all online.

That type of work has meant she had to develop self-discipline, a personal asset she has grown with through the experience, she said.

She'll graduate with a two-year degree from WVC and a high school diploma from Lake Roosevelt High School.

She intends to go into nursing, and has already completed studies for her nursing assistant credentials. She still has to take that test.

The online experience for the Grand Coulee student allowed her to avoid the commute to Wenatchee or Omak, and also made it possible to participate in volleyball last fall, she noted.
