Lauded pyrotechs to repeat popular show atop dam on 4th

Oohs and aahs and lots of applause were audible at the end of last year's fireworks show put on by Rocketman Pyros, L.L.C.

So the chamber of commerce brought them back again.

The Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce's main sponsor of the fireworks, STCU, merged in 2021 with the Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union and has been a reliable community partner ever since, helping the community to put on many events.

It's hard to imagine a better, more iconic venue for the patriotic show than the top of Grand Coulee Dam, providing a launch pad hundreds of feet above the audience in the park below its Visitor Center.

"Each show we produce reflects an unquenchable passion that we have for fireworks," wrote the Rocketman principals Daniel VerHeul and Steve Underwood in their proposal for this year's show.

The show will fire off over 530 pyrotechnic shells of various diameters from 2.5 to 6 inches, "multi-shot cakes", "comets", and "candles", including a grand finale of 65 shells in a "sparkling burst of color on a velvet backdrop with bursts as brilliant as a million precious gems," promising a "very special ending to your evening of breathtaking pyrotechnic displays."

The fireworks go off starting about 10:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July, immediately following the laser light show across the dam, which starts at 10 p.m.
