Letters from our readers

Carl, I always find your letters to The Star newspaper curious. They contain several statements as fact about specific issues and or political personalities. Those on the left side of the political spectrum may say your statements are from only sources found on the right side of that spectrum.

So, a thought you might consider when making statements as fact: Could you provide the source(s) you used to support those statements?

For so many of us, we are swamped by the 24-hour news cycle, and the shrill noises that social media provides. Today, more than ever, we are “yelled at” by the disinformation and propaganda farms working 24/7 to convince us of this, that, or the other.

In today’s hailstorm of “information-facts-opinions,” no single source can claim total accuracy. There’s a metaphor, “There are always two sides to any story.”

Thanks,

Bob Valen

In Carl Russell’s letter to the editor last week, he talked about Biden’s lies. I wonder where he got his information. He couldn’t have gotten it from FOX news because they are not a news station anymore; they are just an opinion station now since they got caught about lying too much.

I don’t listen to them at all, but I wonder if they mention Trump’s lies. I think he has never said anything but lies.
