8/12 - A Coulee Dam officer assisted a Grand Coulee officer at the Spring Canyon Apartments in Grand Coulee where a man allegedly was threatening to shoot people but a gun wasn’t observed. The Coulee Dam officer stood with the suspect while the Grand Coulee officer investigated the situation. The suspect at one point was going to walk away and so the Coulee Dam officer put him in cuffs to prevent the suspect from fleeing. The Grand Coulee officer ended up arresting the man for disorderly conduct.

8/13 - A loose dog barked at a woman on her property on Camas Street. Police told the dog owners their gate was open. The dog was back home and the gate was closed.

- A report was filed related to a theft on Yucca Street in Coulee Dam but additional details were not included in the report.

- Police went to Hillcrest Avenue in Electric City where a black GMC pickup was in the ditch and trying to get out. The driver stated that he’d had a seizure that put him in the ditch, but he was not injured. When the man stepped out of the vehicle he fell, and police called for emergency medical services to assist. The man fell multiple times. The man said he had a couple of beers in the morning and police confirmed that he took a medication. After faling field sobriety tests and talking more about his drinking habits, police believed his drinking affected his driving and told him he would be arrested for driving under the influence. A tow truck was called for his vehicle. Police were unable to contact a judge to get a warrant to obtain blood samples to determine a blood alcohol content. The man was cited for DUI and released.

8/14 - Juveniles were allegedly driving ATV’s recklessly in the Lincoln Avenue area of Electric City. An officer “hid” in the area and didn’t see or hear any ATV’s, then learned the police chief had already spoken to the mother of the children and they were warned to stay out of the roadways.

8/15 - A report was filed related to threatening/intimidation in the Grand Avenue area with no further description as to the situation.

- A Kent Street man reported returning from the west side of the state to find his room and possessions in disarray and tools missing from his shed, after allowing people to stay there. The officer knew the people to have been there for some time, establishing a residency, and recommended going through the official eviction process to have them removed. The officer was unable to talk to the man suspected of being involved in the thefts.

- A Coulee Boulevard man told police he had received a phone call from someone saying they needed to come to his house to replace an oxygen tank for him. The man said he does use an oxygen tank and uses a certain company for it. The man said the person on the phone threatened him and “would inject him with a drug to make him talk.” The man said further things about his life that led police to think he could be having a type of mental health crisis. In order to get to the bottom of the situation, an officer called the company who explained they can’t disclose who their patients are but confirmed that they do call patients in regard to medical supplies they are in need of and that they do make calls within the police department’s jurisdiction. Police called the man back and said it was unlikely that the caller had malicious intent or was fraudulent. The man struggled to agree with that conclusion.

- A woman was allegedly assaulted by a man on Ronald Drive in Grand Coulee and left in a white pickup truck. Coulee Dam officers assisted the Grand Coulee Police Department by locating the suspect vehicle driving through Electric City and stopping it near North Dam Park. The GCPD had probable cause to arrest the man for assault and interfering with reporting domestic violence. The Coulee Dam officers waited for the GCPD to arrive to take the suspect into their custody and handle the rest of the case.

- Police checked on dogs in a car at Harvest Foods to make sure they weren’t overheating. They appeared just fine and the windows were cracked enough to allow proper airflow.

8/16 - A Kawasaki motorcycle crashed on Okanogan Avenue in Coulee Dam near a gas station when tribal police attempted to pull it over. The driver was lying on his back on a center meridian and groaning in pain. An EMT arrived to attend to the driver. Police helped with traffic control. An officer noticed the driver’s shoe had come off near by a sign in the median, and a pistol was near the sign as well in the dirt. Tribal police secured the firearm. The driver was taken to the hospital, and a tribal officer followed. The motorcycle was removed from the scene by a tow company. In speaking with a tribal officer, a Coulee Dam officer learned that the motorcycle had been seen by tribal police speeding through Elmer City and passed a tribal officer in Coulee Dam going roughly twice the 30 mph speed limit, leading to the traffic stop. It appears that the motorcycle had hit a slight depression in the roadway near the city shop, possibly went airborne, and the driver and motorcycle slid with the motorcycle eventually hitting a light pole. Police measured the distance between where the driver lost control to where he eventually ended up to be about 200 feet.

8/16 - Loose dogs on Coulee Boulevard kept going into the lake so police could not capture them.

8/17 - A Birch Street man wouldn’t let a woman who was leaving take a dog they had purchased together as a couple. The woman was gone and police were unable to talk to her to help with the situation.

- Police went to the casino to check on a man who had fallen. An officer was told that the man had been intoxicated and fell, but a sober friend was able to get him into his vehicle to take him somewhere.

8/18 - A Grand Coulee officer was flagged down near the Coulee Boulevard gym in Electric City and told that a vehicle was in a collision nearby then left the scene. A Coulee Dam officer responded. The vehicle was found on Goodfellow Avenue. A man exited the residence with his hands in the air. The man agreed to speak with police after saying he was intoxicated and had just come home from the bar, a potentially incriminating statement. He went on to say he didn’t know what happened to his vehicle which had extensive front end damage or what he could have hit. He also didn’t remember driving home. He said he had six Corona beers. He said he also smoked an “acceptable amount” of marijuana. At one point he said he drove straight through a fence at Coulee Boulevard and Jackson Avenue. He had a breath alcohol content of 0.25, just more than triple the 0.08 legal limit. He was cited for driving under the influence, processed at the police station, then given a ride back home. His car was impounded to prevent him from driving any further.
