King imagined a future when “the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners could sit down together at the table of brotherhood.” King envisioned a future in which his four children would not be judged by the color of their skin, rather by the content of their character.

Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee.
