1946 – 2024
Judy (Gandrud) Hofman, 78, of Walla Walla, Washington, formerly of Culbertson, Montana, Ritzville, Washington and Electric City, Washington, passed away at Providence Medical Center on August 20, 2024, following complications of diabetes. She was born on March 31, 1946, in Wilmar, California now known as Rosemead, California, to Joseph and Marie Gandrud. She was raised in Culbertson, where she attended school and graduated from High School in 1965.
Following high school, Judy married John Hofman and raised four boys: John Jr., James, Chris and Kevin.
She was a diehard sports fan and cheered for the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and Supersonics for most of her life. She loved country music, especially George Strait. She was involved with multiple church activities including many years as secretary for Emmanuel Lutheran in Walla Walla, quilting and potluck dinners. Mom never missed a football, basketball, or baseball game or event her children were involved in. After the kids graduated high school, she and John loved to travel and visit them and their families. She will be missed by her family, grandkids, who were very special to her, and friends.
Judy is survived by her husband, John; sons: John Jr. of Norwalk, IA; James of Norwalk, IA; Chris (Geri) of Far West, UT; Kevin (Janelle) of Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren: Tyler Hofman of Des Moines, IA; Megan (Mike) Shelton of Des Moines, IA; Cody, Shane and Shyanne Hofman of Far West, UT; Trina Hofman of Coulee Dam, WA; Benjamin Hofman of Walla Walla, WA; great grandchildren:` Easton, Remington, Liam, Ayden Hofman, Kelsea, and numerous nieces and nephews; and sister Nancy Sundvold of Billings, MT.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Joe and Marie; her brother Joey Gandrud Jr., sister Debbie Gandrud; and brother-in-law Duane Sundvold.
