9/16 - The Grand Coulee and Coulee Dam police departments assisted tribal police at  the casino in Coulee Dam where an intoxicated man with blood on his face had been irate towards security. He was found lying on a nearby lawn. He explained that he had recently gotten out of prison but didn’t explain what happened to his face. Being wanted on a tribal arrest warrant, he was put in wrist restraints and tribal police took him away once they arrived on scene.

9/17 - Grand Coulee Dam security personnel told police about a disabled vehicle on SR-155 near milepost 27. The vehicle was out of the roadway. The driver was working on the vehicle and said a friend was on the way to help. He said he’d like to try to get the vehicle, slowly, to a better spot to stop further down the hill. An officer conducted traffic control to assist with the attempt, but the vehicle stalled out at Riley Point, an overlook just below the top of the dam. The vehicle was able to pull into the parking lot, however, and the officer helped push it into a stall until the situation could be further handled in the near future.

- Grand Coulee Dam security told police about a semi-truck being parked near the skatepark at North Dam Park for about two days. The vehicle was in good standing. A notice was placed on the windshield that the United States Bureau of Reclamation could tow the vehicle as it was on their property.

- A man reported that someone pointed a gun at him a few days prior while on Dill Avenue. He had been babysitting. A man, in the process of separating from his wife, arrived with a friend to retrieve some belongings. The babysitter and the man’s friend had an argument outside of the residence because the babysitter didn’t know who the friend was. The friend reportedly presented a pistol and pointed it at him during the course of the argument and more words were exchanged. The man said he didn’t report the incident sooner because he didn’t want to create “drama.” He didn’t wish to press charges for brandishing a weapon, although he said the family wished the alleged brandisher banned from the property. Police spoke to the suspect who was cooperative and who is legally allowed to own firearms. He said the babysitter had jumped a fence and came at him aggressively, prompting him to show his gun. He was told he was banned from the property.

9/18 - A burglary was reported at the Delano Regional Transfer Station. A hole was cut in the fence, gas siphoned from a truck, and 10 gallons of hydraulic oil and grease guns taken. An employee explained to police that this is an ongoing problem and that tools have gone missing, as well.

9/19 - A Toyota Yaris struck a Jeep at the intersection of Spokane Way and Main Street. The Yaris had stopped at a stop sign on Main Street but the driver didn’t see the Jeep coming down Spokane Way and struck it on the driver’s side in the middle of the vehicle. Both drivers were insured and uninjured. The Jeep could be driven away but the officer felt the Yaris was “a total loss,” and it was towed away.

- A man walking in the neighborhood of Roosevelt Drive said that dogs at a house were barking at him from behind a fence. He thought the couple inside must have seen him shaking his head and came outside. He told them to control their dogs. He said the woman was cursing at him and told him not to walk on the road or they’d sic the dogs on him. The man said he walked away and she then opened the fence and the dogs ran out. One of the dogs approached him by the nearby Mexican restaurant, sniffed him, then ran off. Police spoke to the couple. They said one of their dogs had gotten loose and the man had thrown a rock at one of the dogs. They denied making any threats to sic the dogs on him. They are in the process of moving from the area and neither party wished to pursue any charges.

- An estimated 15-20 shots from a gun were heard in the Delano area. Multiple people had reported hearing the shots. No one saw anyone with a gun. One man reported a man had jumped his fence and was running around. He strangely said that his dog had witnessed the event, as well. Another person reported a semi-truck driving fast in the area. Police saw a semi-truck, warm to the touch as if recently driven, and saw 9-millimeter bullet casings at the entryway of the nearby residence. But they called the owner, who said he was at a festival in Wenatchee which, police confirmed, was happening at the time. Police also spoke to a man who could have been the one who jumped a fence. He wasn’t injured and claimed no involvement in the situation. Throughout the process police didn’t find anyone injured or see any signs of injury, such as blood. Witnesses who heard the shots didn’t hear any screams. There wasn’t sufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime. The police report notes that it was irresponsible, whatever happened, to discharge a weapon in a neighborhood. Coulee Dam Police assisted in the case, and a Grant County deputy used a “heat seeking” drone to search the area for any possible victims, finding nothing of note.

9/22 - A guy in his 20s was reported to be yelling in the Continental Heights area. Police didn’t find anyone yelling there.

9/17 - A woman told police she was awoken by a noise and believed her camper trailer had been hit by a BB gun after then seeing a man shooting one nearby. Police spoke to the man who showed police the can he was shooting at. From where he was shooting, it was plausible that a BB could pass through trees there and hit the camper. Police told him he wasn’t to shoot the BB gun in town and to be more careful when shooting it.

- While parked at the high school football field, an officer saw an SUV being driven down SR-155 that belonged to a woman with a suspended license who was  wanted on multiple arrest warrants out of various jurisdictions. Police found her parked at the nearby smoke shop and spoke with her and a tribal officer. The tribal officer took her into custody on a tribal arrest warrant.

9/18 - A Kent Street man told police his nephew had stolen tires and wheels from him. He had made a deal with his nephew to do work to make up for the theft, but the nephew didn’t follow through with the deal. At the time of the report, police had been unable to reach the man regarding whether he wished to pursue charges.

9/20 - Police went to Diamond Street in Electric City where a house was engulfed in flames. The homeowner said he had left stew on the stove on the low setting and left to catch a local ball game. The officer was told two cats had likely perished in the fire but that three dogs had managed to get out. The officer remained on scene while a fire crew mopped up the fire.
