Candidates didn't lie before

When I was a kid, I was taught lying was very bad. Up until the last few years I wasn’t aware of hardly any outright lies. Then in 2015 Donald Trump lied to the whole world that he didn’t know anything about Russia. He had never been there.

Since then, the lies are unending. People don’t care anymore.
