Johnny Ray Crawford

Johnny Ray Crawford was born on November 28, 1936 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, one of 5 children born to Clyde & Ola Crawford. On Wednesday, November 13, 2024 he went to heaven to be with his wife Catherine (Cathy) and his sons Brian & Jon.

On May 17, 1955 Johnny married Cathy Center in Olathe, Kansas and started their family of 6 children. Eventually they moved the family to Naches, WA where they bought an orchard of 40 acres. Johnny was a hard worker. He was a logger for 15 years and had various other jobs. He could do just about anything.

Johnny & Cathy sold the orchard in 2000 and moved to Electric City, Washington and bought a house overlooking Banks Lake. Johnny loved the outdoors where he would hunt and fish with family and friends. He fished in many tournaments with his son Jon. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling. Johnny truly loved his family and would do anything for them.

Johnny is survived by his sons: Kelvin & wife Kathy Crawford of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Ronald Crawford of LaGrande, Oregon; daughters: Luann Campbell of Grand Coulee, Washington, Becky and her husband Dave Fredericksen of Naches, Washington, Daughter-in-law Shelly Crawford Dittmer; special friend and companion Georgetta Smith of Greenland, Arkansas.

Johnny is also survived by a sister Donna Knight of Lees Summitt, Missouri, and was a Papa to 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Cathy, 2 sons Brian and Jon, his parents Clyde & Ola, and 3 brothers Leon, Wayne and Joe.

The family would like to thank Raelyn D. And Hayley S.  for taking such loving care of dad these last few months, you were a blessing.

A celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 Pm, Friday, November 22, 2024 at Strate Funeral Home, Grand Coulee, Washington. Graveside services will follow at Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee, Washington.
