Coulee Dam Police
11/25 - Police responded to Douglas Avenue and Stevens Avenue where a couple had been in an argument while driving, stopped in the road, and switched seats. The woman allegedly threw a remote control for the car at the man’s face, leaving a mark. The man didn’t wish to press charges for assault in order to not make things worse. The case was, however, forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review. The two separated for the day after the police interaction. Afterwards, the officer learned that both of them had suspended licenses.
11/27 - Police responded to Roosevelt Avenue in Electric City on a report of a possible burglary in progress. A neighbor saw a man attempting to get into a residence, saying he was looking for his son. Police found the residence’s entrances secure except for a basement door. Police announced their presence and checked the residence for any unwanted persons and didn’t find anyone. Grand Coulee Police assisted in the situation.
- Police responded to Sunset Drive in Electric City where a vehicle had apparently driven through one yard, damaging planters, then into another yard before hitting a parked vehicle in a driveway, pushing it into another parked car. A medical crew evaluated the driver. Police spoke to her, noting slurred speech. The driver said she had just left a local tavern. She failed sobriety tests before ultimately showing a blood alcohol content of about 0.24, three times the legal limit of 0.08. She was given a ride home as she did not meet booking requirements for the county jail.
11/28 - A missing person report originating from Pine Street in Coulee Dam was relayed to tribal police as the Coulee Dam officer on duty was busy with another situation.
11/29 - Coulee Dam and Grand Coulee officers responded to Osborn Bay to assist a Washington State Fish & Wildlife officer serve an eviction notice to people camping at a site that was “completely littered with garbage and filth,” and where “black water tanks” from campers were also seen being emptied into a hole in the ground.
11/30 - On SR-155 near milepost 24, an officer saw a man exit the passenger side of the car and throw something on the ground, breaking it and spilling its contents. The driver and passenger said they had been arguing. The passenger, wanted on an Okanogan County warrant, was arrested and taken to the jail there.
- Police went to Jackson Avenue to investigate a possible trespass in progress where a woman was seen entering a residence. A woman answered the door and was confused as to why police were there. She said she was visiting her boyfriend. Police saw she was cooking food and determined that no crime had been committed.
- After checking the area several times, police were unable to locate a female reported as being cold and in “crisis” near Harvest Foods.
