11/13 - A safety manager from the Grand Coulee Dam reported about $3,000 of equipment stolen, including “blasting hoods” and “full face respirators.” The items had been dropped off in duffle bags on the porch of an employee who gets the items cleaned. The items were stolen from the porch. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

11/15 - Police responded to Martin Road and O’Sullivan Street where a ladder had been stolen. The daughter of the property owners had been messaged about a truck being on the property and the ladder being taken. When police arrived, the truck was still there, with the ladder in the back and the driver asleep in the driver’s seat. Police checked to make sure there were no weapons inside the cab of the truck before opening the door, waking the driver, and arresting him. The man said he had run out of gas and that he didn’t know who the ladder belonged to but admitted to taking it from the property. He was also wanted on multiple felony arrest warrants out of Cowlitz County. He was taken to Grant County Jail for holding until being taken to the jail in Cowlitz County.

11/18 - Two batteries were reported stolen from a semi-truck parked within the fences of the transfer station in Delano. Police looked at the semi-truck, which holds three batteries, two of which were stolen along with holding bolts for them for a total value of about $460. Condensation on a security camera lens may have obstructed footage of the incident. A transfer station employee said he would provide police with footage. Holes cut in the fence haven’t been patched because of a belief by employees that thieves will simply cut new holes.

- A man was reported to have urinated near the Continental Heights apartments, exposing his penis in the process. A man who witnessed this found it offensive and wished to press charges. The urinator, described as wearing a multicolored jacket, was found by police near Safeway. The man had been warned about public urination in the past, and said that he simply had to go and has bladder issues. Police told him that it upsets people, that a full investigation would be conducted, and that he may receive a citation in the mail for indecent exposure, which someone is guilty of doing if they expose themselves in a way that would cause affront or alarm. The man said he understood before walking away.

11/19 - A city employee reported two batteries stolen from a snow plow vehicle at the city shop on Dill Avenue. The batteries were valued at approximately $300. They were likely stolen within the past five months out of a metal enclosure on the vehicle, which was then reclosed. The employee discovered the theft after the vehicle wouldn’t start.

11/22 - Two people were banned from The Coulee Wall Variety Store after one of them was caught on surveillance footage stealing items from the store.

- A man was reported to have walked out of Safeway with three Crown Royal whisky bottles and then get into a vehicle. Police approached the vehicle. A man was asleep in the backseat. The driver came out after purchasing items and was told about the situation. He was disappointed in his friend. The bottles were returned to the store. The manager didn’t wish to press charges. The driver thanked the officer for the way the situation was handled before driving his friend home.

11/25 - A backpack with uncapped syringe needles was turned in to police. No drugs or identifiers of the owner of the bag were inside. The backpack was disposed of.

11/26 - Police collected details about a situation involving the reporting party’s son carrying an ax around and then leaving. No charges were pressed and there wasn’t enough evidence to show any crime had been committed.

Police found the vehicle near Civic Way and River Drive heading towards Cedar Street and pulled it over. They found that his wife and her friend left in the truck following an argument with the man. The truck was common property and not stolen. Everyone was given rides home and the truck was allowed to be parked until it could be retrieved in the morning.

- Police were unable to locate an Electric City woman’s phone, reported stolen by her girlfriend who denied taking it. The pair had been in an argument the night before. The phone had pinged earlier to the girlfriend’s mother’s home. No charges were filed at the time of the report.
