Chris quietly passed away while working under his truck in the garage. Just a door opening away with his little dog curled around him. He was a strong, fast worker when not in pain. Finally his four years of suffering with pancreatic cancer were over.My thoughts immediately went back to when he was a little boy, always teasing, laughing, and full of fun.
I married Jim Carzoli the summer after graduation. He was in the Air Force at Moses Lake. Chris was our third child. We had four children and lived in Grand Coulee for 19 years. His sisters Tammy & Cindy furnished a home for him the last few years. Thank you girls for all the help you gave him. He was able to spend some summers at the Republic ranch and some time with me.
His grandparents, Matt & Mamie Snyder, bought a cabin with acreage near Republic, Wa. As a young boy, during the summer he and his cousin Brant Quinton would go up to the cabin with Grandma. They enjoyed fishing in the beaver ponds, later hunting and cutting wood. His Grandpa would come up to visit, always bringing his guitar and accordion. He'd sing and yodel and the grandkids would dance and sing their favorites songs, "The Auctioneer & Kaw-Liga. Chris had many great memories of the place we called the ranch, and spent many months up there during his illness. His cousin Brant was always there for Chris, and helped whenever he could.
Ron Gerard was his lifelong friend. They met in Jr high and both excelled in sports, especially Football during their H.S. Years at Lake Roosevelt .Chris worked for Ron in Spokane doing concrete work and building homes. He has stood by Chris throughout the years.
Chris headed to Wyoming to work in the oil fields and joined his brother Ken who lived in Gillette WY. Ken delivered and set-up manufactured homes for over 35 yrs. Chris soon decided to move to Story, WY and started building homes. He married Mona and they soon had a son Colter in 1996. Ken and Chris did a lot of hunting and fishing together, and taking Colter along when they could. Chris returned to Grand Coulee in 2010. Colter and his Uncle Ken live near each other and are great friends.
His dad Jim later moved down to Story to live with Chris & Ken but sadly passed away in 2003. He was creative and handy, making most anything out of wood and metal.
And lastly, thank you to his friends in Grand Coulee, who he could depend on for help, he'll be looking down on you.
