Sandra Green

July 27, 1940 - December 8, 2024 A woman of courage and wit

Sandra E. Green, 84, from Grand Coulee, Washington, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024.

She was born in Mandan, North Dakota on July 27, 1940, and moved to Spokane, Washington with her family when she was a little girl. Sandra was the mother of three children, Greg Edmunds (and wife, Dawn Edmunds) of Osburn, Idaho, Debbie Van Brunt of Rockville, Maryland, and Brenda Edmunds of Spokane, Washington. She was grandmother to seven: Sarah, Matthew, Meghann, Jeremy, Rachael, Joshua, and Michaela, great-grandmother to eleven: Jackson, Audrey, Morgan, Eilis, Huxley, Bronson, Archer, Myra, Kyler, Kathryn, and Luna. She is predeceased by the father of her children and former husband, George Edmunds, and is survived by her former husband, Terry Batterman.

Sandy was a warehouseman for the Bureau of Reclamation at Grand Coulee Dam for many years and was a proud member of the Teamsters' Union. She had a keen interest in genealogy and American History and could beat all comers in history trivia and Name That Tune contests. She was a fierce women's libber long before the cool kids jumped on board. She loved her family, her home in Grand Coulee, and her sweet little dogs, and never disclosed her order of preference. Since her little dogs never argued or gave her trouble and she designed her own dream home, her family thought it prudent to never ask. Sandra enjoyed watching the Zags basketball team play, feeding the hummingbirds that fluttered around her property, and her cousin Bonnie Underdahl Gillam's visits.

God threw away the mold after he created Sandy. She laughed a lot, lived life on her own terms, tricked her gullible children into giving her the lion's share of a lot of milkshakes over the years, and made life fun. We loved her very much, and she will be sorely missed.
