12/26 - An officer assisted tribal police on a case involving a possible overdose at Harvest Foods in Coulee Dam. Emergency Medical Services were on scene and informed the officer the man involved was highly intoxicated but had refused medical services.

12/29 - A vehicle left the roadway on Alcan Road and, as shown by snow tracks, had then hit a metal fence, a pole cemented to the ground that had been uprooted, a metal picnic table that had been completely destroyed, and a light pole that also showed light damage. The driver, having come to a stop at the light pole, was observed by the officer to have blood on his shirt and shoes, likely caused by the deployed airbags inside of his vehicle during the crash. The driver showed signs of intoxication and eventually showed a blood alcohol content of 0.127, above the 0.08 legal limit. It came to the officer’s attention that the driver was only 17 years of age and, intending to enlist in the U.S. Marines, was concerned about how the incident could affect his enrollment. The officer said the driver was respectful during questioning by the officer, who considered him to be a “suitable candidate” for a “diversion of charges” if the prosecutor’s office deems it appropriate. He was released into the custody of his grandmother.

1/1 - A Weil Place girl was taken to a juvenile detention center for a possible domestic violence charge in which both parties involved had shown signs of injury, but it wasn’t clear who the primary aggressor had been during an argument involving doing the dishes.
