The Lake Roosevelt Raiders ended their post-season basketball quest March 5 at the Spokane Arena in the Round of 12 at state tournament with a loss to Tri-
Cities Prep.
With eight players over 6 feet, the Jaguars won 64-33, effectively limiting the Raider offense, shooting 48% to the Raiders' 24%.
Tri-Cities' Bryson Wilde scored 21 points. Ivan Alejandre led LR scoring with 17.
The Raiders dropped in 11 of 32 two-point attempts and 11 of 16 free throws, but not one of 14 trey attempts, making for a tired-looking ending to an otherwise successful season.
"Well, we had a great season and won some big games," Raider Head Coach Ed Wolfe said. "Ran with the best of them. These boys have a lot to hold their heads high about."
Indeed. The Raiders finished their regular season at the top of the Central Washington 2B Boys Basketball League with a 5-1 record, 20-6 overall. Alejandre was named player of the year, and Wolfe coach of the year.
