Gary Edward Boyd was born to Gladys (Tiny) Boyd on March 19, 1959. He passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
After his high school graduation in 1977 he began working as an ironworker. On October 20, 1979, Gary and Cindi Garvin were married. Gary and Cindi lived in the area for a few years during which two children joined the Boyd family, Jason Craig Boyd their son on March 13, 1980 and Kasey Michelle Boyd daughter on October 30,1982. In 1986 the Boyd family moved to Auburn, Washington. In 1993 his ironworkers job took them to Hawaii for a year then back to Auburn. 1997 was a big year for the Boyd family with Gary and Cindi buying their first home in Sumner Washington. Gary was so proud to be a homeowner.
As an ironworker Gary worked on many buildings, most recognizable include Safeco Field, in Seattle, Washington, The Narrows bridge in Tacoma, Washington and the Hapuna Prince Beach Hotel in Hawaii, (just to name a few). After 35 years of being an Ironworker Gary retired.
In 2000 Gary became a grandfather! Grandson Tristin Edward Boyd joined the family, and Gary spent most of his time after retirement with Tristin. Another Grandson joined the family in 2008, Haydin Dean Hiebert. In 2018 Gary and Cindi moved back to Grand Coulee.
Family was everything to Gary, he loved telling stories especially of Bearman to scare his nephews. The loved music and dancing around the house. He never missed a single basketball game of his daughter. He loved taking Marvin, Jason, Tristin, and Haydin hunting. He drank Pepsi every day of his life. He loved going on drives with his loving wife Cindi. Gary greatly enjoyed working on his home and property, taking care of all the animals, lawn and sitting with the chickens. He also loved woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Cindi Boyd of 45 years. His son Jason Boyd, Daughter Kasey (Marvin) Hiebert, Grandsons Tristin Boyd and Haydin Hiebert. Gary is also survived by his siblings, Karen (Larry) LaVelle, Linda Palmer, Yvonne Misiaszek, Peggy (Del) Ostenberg, Denny Boyd, Darrell Boyd and Tony Boyd. Many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Tiny Boyd, two brothers Kevin Boyd and Lester Boyd.
A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Nespelem Community Center in Nespelem, Washington.
