DOGE vs DoD - a coming paradox?

As DOGE continues its mission of finding Waste, Fraud and Abuse within the Federal Government, I want to share a bit of Greek Mythology with my fellow citizens. It’s about the hound named Laelaps and the fox named Teumessian.

Laelaps the hound was destined to catch whatever it chased down. Teumessian the fox was destined to never be caught.

Let’s call DOGE Laelaps the hound as it enters the financial offices of the Department of Defense, which we will call Teumessian, the fox. What will happen?

You see, the DoD has never been successfully audited, never. We’ve all read or heard about the waste, fraud and abuse over many decades. Seems to be an entangled part of the history of that multi-billion-dollar government operation.

Those who have tried to audit the DoD, and those who have worked for the major providers of stuff for the DoD, have talked about the waste, fraud and abuse.

I look forward to seeing DOGE enter the halls of the Pentagon searching for waste, fraud and abuse. My popcorn is ready.
