Ladies start with a win

It’s nice to jump into spring with a win, and Lake Roosevelt’s Lady Raiders softball team did that Saturday in Brewster.

LR beat the Lady Bears 24-11 in the season opener for Central Washington 2B teams, starting their playing season a week earlier than other LR teams.

New Head Coach Mike Steffens said it was a nice way to start the season, especially against a team that is pretty competitive.

Brewster gets a rematch coming up this week when the Raiders host the Bears in Grand Coulee on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

The next day, Lake Roosevelt will play a doubleheader at home against Manson, starting at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
