Thomas (Tom) M. Nieberding

Thomas (Tom) M. Nieberding of Westlake, OH passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born on August 26, 1946 in Cleveland, OH. He grew up on West 187th Street in Cleveland, OH and Usher Road in Olmsted Falls, OH. In his adult life he lived in Texas, Wisconsin, Washington and Ohio. 

Tom was and always will be a proud Marine who served as a Corporal in Vietnam. He graduated from Cleveland State University in 1977 with a degree in Engineering. He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation as an Engineer & Warehouseman in Grand Coulee, WA at the Grand Coulee DAM. Tom also at age 50 was the oldest person to graduate from the Police Academy to become a Police Officer.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in Canada, Wisconsin, Washington and Ohio and he enjoyed competitive shooting with family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by Patricia Nieberding his wife, Robert Nieberding his father, Janis Nieberding his mother, Linda Nieberding his sister, Alan Vitas his brother-in-law and his stepson James Eckerfield.

Tom is survived by his sisters; Anita, Mary (Terry), Nanette (Rick) and Janis (Tim), his children Thomas Nieberding II (Christie), Melissa Milsaps, David Nieberding, his step daughter Renee Reddy Bryant (Tom) and grandchildren Everett Milsaps, Raegan Reedy, Lauren Milsaps and Raelynn Reedy.

The family would like to thank Devon Oaks Assisted Living and Harmony Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Tom in his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 2256 Clague Rd. Westlake, OH 44145 on Saturday, April 5 th at 10:30AM ET with a luncheon immediately following. 

Interment will take place in the near future at Spring Canyon Cemetery in Coulee Dam, WA.
